Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Yes, finally a new REAL blog post from me. After I started working full time I just do not seem to have time for anything anymore – such a shame. Anyhow… let us get back to business:


Saturday mornings are made for coffee (or is coffee made for lazy Saturday mornings?) and Fall Saturdays are made for PSL´s. What is a PSL you mean? Of course a pumpkin spice latte. You can get them at Starbucks, however this gets expensive and there is not even pumpkin in them. So why not integrate real pumpkin into your own PSL? It is quick and easy and the base can be used for up to one week.

So let us get stared…




1. What you need:

  • 2.5 table spoons of pureed pumpkin (I used the canned version out of pure convenience)
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of condensed milk
  • 4-5 table spoons of brown sugar
  • 2 table spoons of vanilla extract
  • 2 table spoons of cinnamon
  • 1 tea spoon of ground ginger
  • 1 tea spoon of nutmeg
  • 1/2 tea spoon of ground cloves
  • strong coffee
  • whipped cream

First you mix everything except the coffee and the whipped cream together and blend it. The canned pumpkin already comes in a very soft consistency so basically all it takes is a very few seconds and you have a smooth consistency. I filled my base mix into a smoothie jar (I knew they would come in handy) – that way I can store it in the fridge.





Now how to make the actual PSL? Fill up around half a cup with the PSL base mix and heat it up in the microwave (or like it did) in a pot on the stove. Afterwards add a cup of strong coffee (I used the Starbucks pots to get the real PSL feeling and as they are quitebig I fitted a full coffee and the PSL base mix into the pot) to the mix. Top of with whipped cream and sprinkle cinnamon on top to make it look pretty 😉
