Product of the Week – #1 REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

I was thinking about starting a new category on the blog. And as you can see I am calling it “Product of the Week”. I want to show you products I either recently got and have been using a lot over the last week/weeks or something I re-discovered and have therefore been using quite a bit.

And I want to start by introducing an amazing product to you. It is the
Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask from REN. I discovered this product on YouTube by the end of last year (December 23rd to be precise) and after some research I knew I had to have it, even though it is unfortunately for from cheap. Luckily I ended up getting it as a belated Christmas present from the amazing boyfriend already on December 27th. And ever since I got it I have been in love with this product.

According to the REN homepage the mask is described as “bio active peel mask designed to renew the complexion, reduce the appearance of fine lines and dramatically improve skin tone”. It is supposed to brighten your skin and make it look healthier and more radiant.

The mask smells strongly of oranges and citrus in general and is quite sticky. On YouTube I heard the term of it feeling like “spreading honey on your face”. I do not think it is that bad but it is definitely on the thicker side. You apply the mask and leave it on for around 10 minutes. Afterwards you take it off with a muslin cloth, which comes with the mask. And even though you do not see an instant difference, I definitely think my skin looks brighter by the next morning.  You can also feel that the mask is doing something to your skin. It tingles oh so slightly though not to the degree that it feels uncomfortable (except around my nose, which was wound from my cold). I read about that some people leave it on over night, I would however not recommend this at all as I am not sure to what you would wake up too, if you leave it on too long.

The only downside of this product is, that the mask is quite expensive. In the UK you pay around 30 GBP (35,75 Euro), which is the same price you pay when ordering over various online shops to get it shipped to Germany. Here in Denmark we are able to buy it at Magasin and Illum, but for a whooping 375 DKK (50,25 Euro). As I stick to using it once a week I hope to not finish it before late Spring and I will definitely stock up on another bottle when I am in London in March. As I love the mask so much I am also very tempted in trying the serum and/or the concentrate. I can already see myself not being able to stop buying next time I am in the city.

Do you have any REN products and how do you like them? Which other products should I keep an eye on or maybe try?

Love, S.
