London (Haul) Calling

I made it back from London in one piece, even with all the snow storms going on all over Europe. At the time when this post comes online I am (hopefully) already back in the air, on my way to Germany.

London has so many offerings when it comes to shopping and beauty – I just love if you have all the different brands available, which you can also find on blogs and on YouTube. Heaven for a shopaholic like me :)

As it was my birthday after all (and because I just do not come to London too often – it took me 17 1/2 years to come back there) I definitely splurged on cosmetics a little bit (and underwear, which will never ever be part of this blog or any YouTube videos, lol)…

I will make separate blog posts about many of  the different products I bought – I think especially the Burberry items, but also Revlon, the concealers and the Laura Mercier Brightening Powder will be interesting for you guys. So check back regularly for updates.

Crème de la Crème

You know my love for tinted moisturizers as I have been rambling on about that on here quite a few times.

For the last year or so Anna has been an inspiration when it came to new products. Due to her, I splurged on the Beauty Elixier from Caudalie and the Clarins Liquid Self-Tanner, seen here, as well the tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier, seen here, products I partially already have (and always would) repurchase.

One of the things I have had my eyes on, but did not know where to buy them, was the tinted moisturizer by Chantecaille. When I happened to stroll through Nordstrom I suddenly passed by a Chantecaille counter and just could not resist. A very nice (though very talkative) woman led me through their products and gave me a full-face make-up. I usually am not the biggest fan of letting someone touch my face but I knew that I would head home a little while later with the possibility of a shower.

She matched me to the color Alabaster and also showed me some more products. As tempted as I was by them, I left (almost) all of them in the store, mainly because Chantecaille costs a fortune. However I love the tinted moisturizer, so I got that one. It gives me that dewy look I love so much, without being too heavy. Even though the Laura Mercier product is great, it sometimes becomes a bit too heavy the longer the day drags out. Chantecaille gives me the same great glow Laura Mercier does, while being a bit “lighter” when wearing it.

I love the small opening of the tube, as you are able to squeeze out even the tiniest amount of product. This comes in handy should you feel like you need just a tad bit more.

Does anyone happen to know where you can order or buy Chantecaille in Europe? Some online shop, which ships to Denmark or Germany? Or maybe a store in the UK (I still hope to hit London at some point next summer – maybe in the summer or something) or in Germany.

My Daily Routine Part I – Tinted Moisturizers

Even though it is summer, the weather tells me differently. I am currently using quite a bit of my free time reorganizing and cleaning the apartment. I never got to do a proper spring cleaning so it now turned out a summer cleaning.

Part of the cleaning process was also getting my make up storage in order. I threw some stuff out, which had to go due to just being too old and I packed a few things away my sister and friends might like.

When it came to foundations, BB creams and tinted moisturizers I figured out that I am left over with 6 products – there of are two of each category. I thought it would be neat to actually show you, which they are and how they work for me. So over the last two days I have been taking pictures of my “getting ready process” for you and will share my information and experiences with my two tinted moisturizers with you.

1. Laura Mercier SPF 20 – Oil Free

The Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer is my favorite as it gives me the most natural look afterwards without feeling heavy on my skin. You can slightly tell that the effect is has is also slightly mattifying and I would not necessarily need powder on top (but use it on days where I am gone all day). I also noticed that it is easier to apply any kind of blush afterwards (compared to other products).

The product is available online under www.lauramercier.com or in several stores all over the world (though the homepage seems not up-to-date as the Hamburg counter within the Alsterhaus is for example missing).

2. Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15

After I accepted that the tinted moisturizer from Clinique is actually close to a foundation I finally started to like it. Unfortunately it leaves your face quite shiny so you definitely need to apply powder on top. You can see that it actually covers quite good (except of that pimple on the right side of my face) as I had a bit of rash around my mouth that morning.

The products are available over www.clinique.de or in drugstores all over the place. I like that I never had problems with Clinique especially considering my allergies etc.

It Started As A Business Trip And Ended As A Beauty Trip

The ones who follow me on Twitter might have seen that I was in Hamburg last week Wednesday for my first real business trip. It was a great experience and even though I realized how much more I have to learn I think I did a good job.

One of the peaks was, that I had the possibility of hitting a few stores before we had to take our train back to Kopenhagen. The Alsterhaus was my first choice and it was by coincidence the closest store to the place where we had our meeting.

A little overview of what I bought can be seen above. And now in detail:

1. Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in 89 – Vision

I already have the number 82 – Epatante and when I saw that Chanel brought out new colors of this eyeshadow I had to had this one. By last week it was still not available in Denmark (and it is also cheaper in Hamburg) so I had to get it. I love the eyeshadows to draw an eyeliner line or to use it as a highlighter at the inner side of my eye.

2. Dior Vernis Brilliance Gloss in 178 – Cosmo

The nail polish comes from the new summer line, which was also still not available in Denmark at the time when I left. The Dior brushes are great (similar to Essie) but the quality is even besser than Essie’s (7 days chip free!!!).

3. Clinique All About Lips

A product I had been dying to test for ages. It is not available in Scandinavia (we have Clinique but apparently we do not get every product – the boyfriend loves the caffein roll stick for his eyes, which is also not available up here). I have only tried it 2-3 times since then. Not sure if and how much I like it. Review wanted?

4. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 Oil Free in Porcelain

Widely hyped in the blogger and You Tube community I just had to try it. And yes, as far as I can tell it is worth the money. And you know my love for tinted moisturizers. I decided on the oil free version as it is supposed to be better for sensitive skin. I am in love!

5. Various goodies

Hamburg is generous! I got a mini (but still quite big) size of the Chanel lip gloss in 166 – Amour. From Laura Mercier I got a pretty decent-sized foundation primer. And from Dior I got both a day creme and an eye cream from their Hydra Life Series. The day creme is tiny but eye cream you do not need that much so that size is also good.
