Burberry Beauty

So, when in London I just had to go and see Harrod’s. And if course buy some makeup there. To my defense: it was my 30th birthday after all!!! I knew that Harrod’s is one of the few places, where I would be able to get my hands on some Burberry makeup, and I did not want to let this opportunity go to waste.

Burberry is expensive – both in clothes and in makeup. But oh, are they able to pull of the every-day-but-still-special thing. Again – both in clothes and makeup (I still want to have on of their trenchcoats at some point – better got to start saving).

Rosewood is their much hyped eyeshadow and the new Spring collection has amazing blushes – and I wanted to join the trend. When arriving at Harrod’s I had the choice of choices: I knew I wanted Rosewood but other nice eyeshadows were presented to me as well. And I wanted one of their blushes. So when the sales lady told me that when purchasing three products, I would get a complimentary exclusive makeup remover with my purchase, she had me.

In the end I decided on their Sheer Eye Shadows in No.09 Rosewood (left) and No.04 Gold Trench (right), both colors complimenting each other very nicely but can also be worn separately.

And I decided on their Light Glow blush in No.10 Hydrangea Pink – and what can I say: it is quite a color. However, as Burberry is pulling of the whole “subtle” thing so amazingly well, I do not have to be as careful when applying as I thought I would have to be (see last picture of me wearing it).

All (makeup) packagings come in little velvet pouches, as can be seen on the first picture. I love that they picked up the Burberry design on the outside AND on the inside (almost too precious to brake in – I know people who use their products only in one corner  to keep the pattern). Also the high quality product shows in the sturdy outer packaging and you got to just love the clicking sound of the magnetic closing mechanism.

Last but not least, below you can see the makeup remover. I am still contemplating if I should sell it or use it. I will use up my other make remover products first and then think about it again.

I also fell in love with their “Fresh Glow”, a makeup base, which can also be mixed with your foundation in order to give you that certain somethin’ somethin’ – unfortunately it does not come cheap but as you know how I love to get my glow going I might have to cave in as soon as summer is about to hit (which might be soon, as we apparently skipping Spring altogether).

Above you can see me wearing the blush and the eyeshadows – subtle but still there. Perfect for every day.

Do you have any Burberry makeup items and if yes, which ones do you like the most? And if not – are you tempted to try them out and what has stopped you from purchasing so far?

Birthday Presents and Germany Haul

No, I did not abandon my blog. Now that we are back to “daylight saving time” and that it is becoming warmer (and sunnier) I will be back into my regular picture-taking-and-blogging-routine soon. I actually already started taking pictures of the Burberry products I bought in London, I was just waiting for good light to take pictures of me wearing them as well. So bear with me a little longer – it will soon be back to normal here.

I took the time to film another video though and can herewith present you a video including my birthday presents and some products I got in Germany. And I hope you enjoy. I also filmed my used-up video #2 right away and will prepare that over the coming days and it will be up by this weekend the latest.

Favorites March

No, I have not been lazy. Well, maybe a bit when it comes to blogging but I have been good in making videos. The next one is up and I hope you enjoy!

After my 2nd mandatory Macro C assignment, which is due on Monday morning and another paper, which is due Friday in a week and which I did not get for on yet, I will be able to be a better blogger again as well. There are so many things, which are just waiting to be shared with you.

London (Haul) Calling

I made it back from London in one piece, even with all the snow storms going on all over Europe. At the time when this post comes online I am (hopefully) already back in the air, on my way to Germany.

London has so many offerings when it comes to shopping and beauty – I just love if you have all the different brands available, which you can also find on blogs and on YouTube. Heaven for a shopaholic like me :)

As it was my birthday after all (and because I just do not come to London too often – it took me 17 1/2 years to come back there) I definitely splurged on cosmetics a little bit (and underwear, which will never ever be part of this blog or any YouTube videos, lol)…

I will make separate blog posts about many of  the different products I bought – I think especially the Burberry items, but also Revlon, the concealers and the Laura Mercier Brightening Powder will be interesting for you guys. So check back regularly for updates.

Present to Myself

After I got this gorgeous wallet from my parents-in-law for my birthday (seen here) I decided to finally get myself the new iPhone 5 cover from Mulberry as well, so that the wallet and the phone cover match again. I already had the cover for the old iPhone, but with upgrading to the 5er it did not fit anymore (the iPhone 5 is longer).

As they did not have the cover in the store on Strøget in Copenhagen, and because we were going to London the week after anyway, I decided to wait and it paid off (literally). According the the Mulberry homepage the cover costs 100 Euro in Germany but in the store they told us it costs 800 kr (which is actually 115 Euro). In the Mulberry store at Heathrow Airport (Terminal 5) I ended up paying “only” 66 GBP (77 Euro), which is quite a saving. In a regular store in London I would have by the way paid 80 GBP. So yeah for me :)

Note to myself: When treating myself to a Mulberry bag next year when I am done with my Masters, do it at Heathrow airport!

How do you like my new cover?
