TAG – All Those Pretty Things

One of the famous TAG’s, which is going around lately is the “All Those Pretty Things” TAG (loosely translated from the German version). At first I was only admiring the pretty things of other people and then started thinking about what kind of pretty make up products I have hidden in my drawer.

Pretty soon I realized that there are actually some really nice things I own so I grabbed my camera to share them with you.

1. Chanel – Blush Horizon De Chanel – Soft Glow Blush – Spring 2012 (limited)

I got the blush right away when it came out. I love the matt pink it gives off and the design is just gorgeous. What I appreciate: the stripes will stay that way, meaning even when I use it up more none of the stripes will disappear with usage (more about that later).

2. Guerlain Météorites Perles – 01 Teint Rosé (permanent)

The packaging – amazingly cute. The pearls just to look at – delicate. And I low the softening effect the pearls have on my face after applying (I am so light that I can easily swipe a brush with product all over my face after I applied my regular make up).

3. MAC – Quite Cute – Sakura Mineralize Blush – April 2011 (limited)

I got this blush a few months back, I think at the end of last year. But definitely months after the LE originally came out. The online store I got it at was obviously getting rid of many older things so I was able to snatch this one up really cheap (I think I paid around 10 Euro). The heart was just too cute and the color is also absolutely gorgeous on my cheeks.

4. MAC – Hey, Sailor – Crew Highlighting Powder – May 2012 (limited)

The LE is quite new so I do not want to loose a lot of words about it. I really think the pattern on the highlighting powder is really pretty. There are two things I do not like that much about it (and they are correlated): the pattern wears off with usage meaning after a while only the white background will be left over. That is actually not too bad because then at least I can use it as what it is supposed to be: a highlighter. That is the second thing I do not like that much at the moment: right now all that comes off the product is the color, meaning I can only use it as a pink blush until the color is totally gone. And that might take a while. I was already thinking about scraping the colored parts off, but I am scared to make a total mess.

5. Sephora – Highlighting Compact Powder Pink (permanent)

I got this product with my first Copenhagen Sephora haul and it soon became one of my favorites. Together with the blush I got it looks amazing. And I admit: I got first drawn to it by the little flowers on top. Unfortunately they are just in the top and I already start to loose them.

As this is a TAG I of course tag a few people where I would like to see what kind of beautiful products each of them owns (and I know they do):

Charlotte from Beauty Ramblings and the Zuckerschaf :)

New In – Zara Haul

I was admiring the famous shopper from Zara since it came out the first time. Various times I was standing in the store with bag in hand but never ended up buying it, as the first versions of the shopper had no inside bag inside and I hate it when I cannot close a bag properly with a zipper or something similar.

This summer they brought out a new mini version of the shopper. Well, actually it comes in two versions. You can find the regular (black) shopper, just as a mini version, here. Really excited I got about the more special version of the mini shopper. They come in various colors and give off a vibe of pure summer feeling (both in color but also with the little round holes inside).

The size and the color are absolutely perfect. It fits all my necessary things perfectly (watch out for a “What’s In My Bag” coming up soon) and would even additionally fit my iPad and a book.

As I ordered it online I also bought a new pair of shorts. Yes, I really had only ONE pair of jeans shorts before and I really liked the whole batik/two-color look on jeans/pants/shorts. I got those in size 38 as I love it when shorts are slightly too big (it also makes you look a bit more skinny, hehe) and they fit perfectly.

The shorts came in time with the warm temperatures last week and I already could wear them a couple of times. Now with the rain this week I have time to put them in the laundry so that they are ready for the next warm period (which is hopefully coming very very soon).

Greetings from Dior

I have been holding back some pictures I took of two new Dior products, which I also got at the Sephora opening.

I was lucky to win a make-up make over worth 300 Danish kroners (ca. 42 Euro), which I really enjoyed. The Dior lady used one of their new “Ready-to-wear Smoky Eyes Palettes” on me and I could not help but get it, as they had a 25% discount on their products that day.

Like most high end products it comes in a little satin pouch (or however you want to call it), which prevents it of scratches and finger prints. Due to the shiny top it does not stay without prints for long though. I chose the color 781 – Smoky Brown as it suits my eye color and my taste most.

The set contains of three colors: 1. is the Base, 2. is Soft Smoky and 3. is Couture Smoky. Depending if it is day or night you can create the perfect smokey eye for every situation. Two brushes come with the set, though I have not used them yet and am not intending to do so as I prefer to use my own.

Yes, this was a “lust” purchase. I was fascinated by the design function of this product (you slide of the top and the mirror pops up with a quiet “swoosh” and for that it actually won some kind of design award I was told) and I am happy about my little high end product. Please do not blame me.

I used the 25% discount to also get the famous “Lucky” , which is an absolute gorgeous color as well. I am still tempted to get the matching lipstick as well.

BBQ In The Sun

On Saturday we spontaneously got invited to a friends place who lives close by. We had bought some meat the same day, as the boyfriend had gotten a new grill pan he wanted to try out. But instead we took the meat out to our friend’s place and enjoyed his gorgeous house and the huge garden with lake view.

I love having so many lakes around to be able to do water sports etc. One of my goals for later in life: having a house on a lake or the ocean.

I love how Mediterranean the tree (below) looks like. It gives such a holiday feeling.

Same goes for little palms of course.

In the front yard he has all those fancy herbs growing, which he actually uses for cooking. So cool to be able to just go into your garden and fetch fresh mint to brew a tea.

Is the tree a pine tree? Anyhow – it also reminds me of Southern Europe and vacation time.

Using Up Challenge

So I cleaned up the other day in order to make some space for new products and just to get an overview of what kind of products I actually still have.

After having watched some You Tube videos where people talked about challenging themselves by using a certain amount of products up before buying anything new, I thought I should join.

After cleaning out and re-organizing a bit I am left with the following products I want to use up first before buying anything new:

1. Category: Body Lotions

I do have three bottles of yummi Bath & Bodyworks lotion left over from my last vacation in Florida. I also repurchased a bottle of the Lavender lotion from Crabtree & Evelyn, after I loved the first bottle so much, which I got from Christoffer’s brother at some point. Just for some reason I never started using the new bottles. Upsi. Last bot not least I still have quite a bit left in my Moringa Milk body lotion from The Body Shop.

2. Category: Body Butters

As you can see I really love the Moringa. This one is half empty but they last quite long from The Body Shop. After taking the pictures I found two more, just in mini-size (pink grapefruit and moringa again). The I Love… body butter I got from a really good friend of mine but was not able to finish it yet.

3. Category: Body Wash

The adidas body wash is from one of my Glossyboxes. I am not too impressed about it but it is pink and fill size so I kept it. If it is good I will keep on using it, if not I will toss it. The Nivea body wash I bought in Germany. It is an oily body wash and I hope it will help with my dry skin. Last but not least I bought those huge pump bottles in the Netherlands, when we went to an outlet shopping mall. I paid 18 Euro for three of them. One is Christoffer’s (olive and already in use) and I got two of the pink grapefruit (best body wash ever) for myself.

As you can see – I still got a long way to go but I think realizing how many products I still have left is the first step into the right direction.
