Lovely Pastels

I am back on track, finally feeling better. The weather forecast is looking good as well – not the 30 degrees they had in Southern Germany and around Vienna but good enough :)

To get back into the blogging routine I start with some new nail polishes I acquired over the last couple of weeks. To start off with I show you the ones from Essie (and a great new hand balm I bought with one of them).

The hand balm is from “I love…” and I love their products as they always smell amazing. For my birthday last year I got a body lotion and a shower gel from one of my best friends and it smelled delicious. Unfortunately I cannot get their products here in Denmark but only in Germany. And in Sweden :)

I love the combination of the two colors. Are they not looking too pretty next to each other? The pink is called “Cute As A Button” and I bought it in Germany over Easter. It was 7,95 Euro and has of course the new brush, which I am absolutely in love with. Ever since I got it I was sad, that I had not gotten more colors for that price.

The mint one is called “Mint Candy Apple” – a color I also wanted to get for ages but as mentioned above I was too cheap to get them in Germany (I wanted to try the new brushes first, because before I did not like Essie too much). But we went to Malmö in Sweden the other day and things are way cheaper there (in general and the Swedish Kroner is weaker than the Danish one). So I got this nail polish for around 15% cheaper than I normally would have paid in Denmark. I was also delighted to see that they actually exchanged the brushes here as well – I saw some in Denmark where they had not done it yet and the old brushes are really not good :/

I tried Cute As A Button out the other day and loved it. It is WAY more bright than expected but after getting used to it I really liked it. For people who like the new coral colors trend – give this a try! I will try Mint Candy Apple next, possibly with a coat of something glittery on the ring finger. But this has to wait until later this week as I start my new job tomorrow and do not want to show up with something too fancy on my nails.

Which other Essie color can you recommend?

Love, S.

MIA Again and Again

Hello everyone,

I am so sorry for my lack of postings but I have been incredibly sick over the last couple of days. I hope to be back on track soon so that I can start blogging again on a regular basis.

TAG – My Little Show Addiction

Sarah from Cozy Beauty recently made a post about “series”. When tagged you are supposed to write down 8 things about your “series habits”. As I am a total addict when it comes to shows, I HAD to participate…

1. Most interesting for you guys are probably the shows I “currently” watch. Here we go: Gossip girl, 90210, The Vampire Diaries, CSI (Las Vegas), Secret Circle, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Grimm, Fringe, Game of Thrones, Bones, Ringer, How I Met Your Mother, Hart of Dixie, Private Practice,  Pretty Little Liars – I think that is all. Those shows do not come all at the same time. Some of them are always on break. And I barely watch other “regular” tv. So I think it is not too many of them.

2. I use a website called www.myepisodes.com to keep track of my shows. I got a profile and but in all the shows I like to watch. The site shows me the day of the show including the title and the episode number. And you can mark if you watched the show already or not (quite convenient I think).

3. I have always been obsessed with American shows. When I was younger I loved to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Friends. I also absolutely adore Gilmore girls (my all-time-favorite!!!). Reruns of Friends and Gilmore girls are always appreciated!

4. I download the shows and either watch them right away or save them for a lazy Saturday morning.

5. Instead of radio I like to have shows running in the background when studying, blogging or cleaning.

6. I love shows with vampires, witches and anything mysterious.

7. I am also in love with CSI and other crime shows like Bones etc. David Boreanaz might play a slight role in me liking Bones :) My favorite CSI show is the original, playing in Las Vegas. But the ones playing in Miami and New York are also okay (meaning I watch it if nothing else is on and I ran out of recorded shows to watch) but not a must-see.

8. I HATE the way shows are produced in the States, meaning all those breaks in between. Of course it was stupid when I had to wait forever until the show/episode finally came out in Germany as well, but at least the keep showing al 20+ episodes at once. Those 6-8 week breaks between episodes drive me CRAZY.

And I tag Charlotte from Beauty Ramblings and the Zuckerschaf (who is of course allowed to answer in German).

German Glossybox – March

I promise – this is going to be that last Glossybox post until the summer. But I had to get it in because it was the 1-year anniversary box and we all had high expectations before receiving the box.

And this is what I got:

1. Clearasil Peeling

2. Ahava Time To Revitalize Extreme Day Cream

3. Avéne Extremely Gentle Cleanser

4. OPI Nail Lacquer

5. Weleda Citrus-Erfrischungsöl (oil for the body)

My review:

When we all got the boxes we did not know what kind of peeling was inside. The card only said ???. By now it was revealed that it is a Clearasil peeling. I read some reviews about it and it is supposed to be quite mild and I am excited to try it out even though it is “only” from Clearasil.

The Ahava cream is quite expensive according to the Glossbybox card. Unfortunately I will have to stick to my rule that I do not want to try out anything with my skin and will stick to products I know. Especially as I want to try out the Bodyshop lotion before.

I have heard lot of great things about Avéne products and I am excited to try out the facial cleanser. I ran out of the one I bought in the States and used two trial packs of a Clinique cleanser, which I had already used before.

I love OPI products but the dark red is unfortunately not quite my color. But it is nice to have and at least it is an OPI product and not just some random other brand.

The last product is the Weleda oil. I do have a rose oil from Weleda at home, which I absolutely love. The citrus oil is nothing I would wear though. I might try it out but it is not my favorite smell.

Love, S.

PS: Glossybox is raising the prices from 10 to 15 Euro, which is an increase of 50%! New customers will have to pay the new price right from the beginning and old customers will have to start paying 15 Euro from May on (if I remember correctly). I hope that the quality of the products will increase so that we see more high-end and less drugstore products. I will try it out for 2-3 more months after the price change and then make up my mind if I keep the subscription or not.

A Day Out In Oslo

I let the pictures speak and will write underneath what you can see. I think that is the best. Beware: picture overload!

View from the ship towards Oslo.

Me in front of the parliament (in front of me). Behind me is the street "Karl Johans Gata", which is THE shopping street in Oslo (and where we spend the first 1,5 hours).

The parliament (I think). I looked it up on the map but there is no description to be found.

Karl Johans Gata towards the king's castle. The park to the left is called Spikersuppa.

In front of the National Theater.

The king's castle.

View backwards down Karl Johans Gata.

The city hall building. A pretty building. Not.

In front of the city hall, looking out on the water. Is it not great to see all that greenery right behind? A capital in such a nature.

Coffee (break) while walking from the city hall towards the opera house.

The famous opera house. The roof is actually leading into the water.

Our ship seen from the opera. I think by now you can guess how "compact" Oslo actually is.

The outside of the inside of the opera. Think about it - the sentence makes sense :)

I would like to have that kind of view from my office.

The Nobel Peace Price office. I do not think that they give it out here but this is where the decision are being made.

View from a very touristy (but nice) area called "Aker Brygge" towards "Akershus". Our ship was actually behind that church you can see in the background.

Like much? I do…

Love, S.
